CSR - corporate social responsibility

A FAMILY BUSINESS IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE :

Founded in 1971 by Michel PHELY as a repair shop for local farmers, OTICO is still run today by two of his children, including Olivier PHELY, who has been its President since 1998.

What makes our Chalmaison factory unique is that it brings together all the services required for the design, production and marketing of our products on a single site.

We are proud to have several members of the same families working in our workshops and support departments, providing more than 120 long-term jobs in a rural area.

The company is deeply rooted in its community and supports local events every year in which our employees get involved, whether charitable (Virades de l'Espoir), educational (Les Médi'Ovales de Provins junior rugby tournament) or simply fun (La Savonaise soapbox race in Chalmaison).

APPRENTICESHIPS AND TRAINING

Aware of the importance of cultivating its human capital, OTICO communicates with young people throughout the year through partnerships with regional technical colleges (Ile-de-France, Burgundy and Grand Est), job fairs, and national initiatives such as Industry Week

Continuing education is one of our top priorities, and we offer our employees career development plans to ensure their future in the region.

All job offers are therefore posted internally first in order to prioritise inter-departmental mobility.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Committed to minimising its environmental footprint, OTICO has been recycling more than 99% of its production waste since 2022.

At the end of 2024, the company carried out a Scope 3 Carbon Footprint Assessment with GPA Services, a firm approved by ADEME (the French Environment and Energy Management Agency); we are currently planning targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

As Seine-et-Marne is the pioneering and leading department for methanisation in France, biomethane accounts for a significant proportion of the energy required for our production.

CSR audits are regularly carried out with our partners Unigrains and BPI France. We are constantly seeking to improve our working and production conditions through investments from the Ile-de-France region and with the help of CETIM (Centre d'Etudes Techniques des Industries Mécaniques).

Conscious of its heritage and resolutely focused on the future, OTICO is ready to take on any challenge thanks to our talented employees!
