The furrow opener roller ensures firm, uniform consolidation of the seedbed and the seed row.
This action promotes good contact between the seed and the soil, optimising germination and emergence.

Thanks to its specific profile, the roller captures rainwater and promotes its infiltration into the soil, considerably reducing surface runoff. This preserves the soil structure and prevents crust formation.

The furrow roller: a benchmark at OTICO
The furrow roller is one of the most popular products in the OTICO range, widely used in Europe and North America on all types of soil. It is particularly appreciated for its agronomic performance, especially its ability to reconsolidate the soil in a localised and effective manner, even in dry conditions.
Its surface refining qualities make it an ideal tool for preparing soil before sowing. The ‘LC’ (studded) and ‘LS’ (sculpted) profiles offer increased traction, reducing the amount of pulling power required.
Designed for intensive use, the furrow roller has a reinforced rubber structure (metal inserts and thick rubber), enabling it to withstand heavy loads and work on demanding terrain, such as stony soils. It is also suitable for high speeds, particularly with fast stubble cultivators.
The LSTX 590 is the flagship model in the range, renowned for its excellent reconsolidation capacity and rock-solid robustness.
The Roll X models (LSTXE 593 and LCTXE 591), equipped with polymer spacers between the tyres, are popular for their light weight and performance, particularly when mounted on rotary harrows.
Finally, frames and scrapers are available as options. These are made of high-strength steel, designed to resist abrasion.

All OTICO rollers can be fitted with a frame and a scraper bar specially designed to suit each tyre profile. These robust components, developed for heavy-duty use, guarantee optimal roller cleaning and ensure high performance, even under the most demanding working conditions.
